Who is Andreea Nita-Creanga?
Mother of two adorable children and a fashion stylist based in Barcelona. I’m in love with everything that fashion means and with my work. In short, I am a very grateful and happy person.
How did you get to do fashion styling?
My mother is a seamstress and, while pregnant with me, she took different specialized courses, introducing me to the world of fashion ever since. A few years later, my parents owned a second-hand clothing store and I helped out on the weekends. So, I’ve been surrounded by clothes from a very young age.
I studied economics and worked for a while in sales for a magazine. I returned to fashion, this time within the Italian group Max Mara, in Barcelona. I decided to study fashion design and styling a year later. I fell in love and decided to move with my boyfriend, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where I studied Fashion Design at IED. Returning to Barcelona after four years, I continued my studies at the European Institute of Design. I graduated with a master’s degree in Fashion Styling, Advertising and Audiovisual Media from LCI Barcelona. In all these years, I have done different internships in various areas of fashion, had my own projects, collaborations and I’ve learned a lot.
How do you prepare for a project?
I like to create immortal images, not just something that is fashionable. I am attracted to original clothes, which tell a story, convey moods or create a reaction. I support the emergent designers and students, playing and combining their creations with those of local designers and well-known brands.
I find my inspiration in movies, the street style looks, magazines, museums, plays, or travelling. ¨The eye has to travel¨, as Diana Vreeland said.
Describe an usual styling day.
All the shootings have at least these steps: you create a concept and develop it, work on an inspiration moodboard, book models, photographers, art direction, make-up and hair artists, scout locations (outdoor or studios), contact the designers and the showrooms, choose the final looks, participate in the shooting, contact the magazines and send the material, communicate with the team and collaborators, publish the final work on social networks; and finally: promote it.
I love the research part and the shooting days. When you have everything ready, you meet the team and the magic begins! You already prepared the looks, the art direction, the poses, etc but in the set the creativity flourish and it´s fun to play with all the elements and get wonderful results.
Your favorite styling projects
All my projects are filled with passion and love. I always say that they are like my children, as you put all your energy and creativity preparing them and wait the result with great enthusiasm.
Your future projects
Adina, a very talented photographer in Barcelona, and I are working side by side to launch a fashion magazine. It´s an ambitious project to promote emerging talent, a manifest about the current situation in fashion and design, in the creative sector in general. It will be a support platform for designers and creatives so they can create and protect the beauty of their essence. We are very excited about this project and I hope to share it with you soon!

¿Como llegaste al estilismo de moda?
Mi madre es costurera y, cuando estaba embarazada conmigo, hacia diferentes cursos de especialización, introduciéndome en el mundo de la moda desde entonces. Unos años mas tarde, mis padres tenían una tienda de ropa de segunda mano y les ayudaba en los fines de semana. Entonces, he estado rodeada de ropa desde pequeña.
Estudié económicas y trabajé en ventas para un tiempo, en una revista. Volví a la moda, de esta vez dentro del grupo italiano Max Mara, en Barcelona. Después decidí estudiar diseño de moda y estilismo. Me enamoré y decidí mudarme con mi novio, en Sao Paulo, Brasil, donde estudié Diseño de Moda en IED. Volviendo en Barcelona después de 4 años, continué los estudios en Instituto Europeo de Diseño. Estoy graduada con el titulo de masterand en Estilismo de Moda, Publicidad y Medios Audiovisuales por LCI Barcelona. En todos estos años, he hecho diferentes practicas y proyectos en varias áreas de la moda y aprendí mucho.
¿Cómo te preparas para tus proyectos?
Me gusta crear imágenes inmortales, no solo algo que esté de moda. Me encantan las prendas que cuentan una historia, que son originales, las que crean una reacción. Apoyo los diseñadores emergentes y a los estudiantes de moda, combinando sus creaciones con los de los diseñadores locales o las grandes marcas internacionales. Encuentro mi inspiración en películas, en los looks del street style, en revistas, museos, obras de teatro, de danza, o viajando. ¨The eye has to travel¨ como bien ha dicho Diana Vreeland.

Describe un día normal de trabajo. ¿Cómo lo organizas y cual es tu objetivo?
Todos los shootings tienen al menos estos pasos: creas un concepto y lo desarrollas, investigas y trabajas en un moodboard de inspiración, buscas los modelos, fotógrafos, art directors, make-up y hair stylists, exploras localizaciones (exteriores o estudios), contactas con los diseñadores y los showrooms, eliges los looks finales, participas el el shooting, buscas las revistas, contactas con ellas y envías el material después de ser editado, comunicas con el equipo y los diseñadores, publicas el trabajo final en las redes sociales.
Me gustan mucho la parte del desarrollo de concepto y los días de shooting. ¡Cuando lo tienes todo preparado, conoces al equipo y empieza la magia! Ya preparaste los looks, la dirección de arte, las poses etc. pero en el set la creatividad florece y es divertido jugar con todos los elementos y obtener resultados maravillosos.
Tus proyectos de estilismo favoritos:
Todos mis proyectos están llenos de pasión y amor. Siempre digo que son como mis hijos, ya que pones toda tu energía y creatividad en prepararlos y esperas el resultado con mucha ilusión.
Tus futuros proyectos:
Estoy trabajando, junto con Adina, una fotógrafa muy talentosa, en el lanzamiento de una revista de moda. Es un proyecto ambicioso para promover el talento emergente, un manifiesto sobre la situación actual de la moda y diseño, en el sector creativo en general. Será una plataforma de apoyo a diseñadores y creativos para que puedan crear y proteger la belleza de su esencia. ¡Estamos muy emocionadas con este proyecto y tengo muchas ganas de compartirlo muy pronto!
